In Psalm 57, we meet David at that breaking point, hiding in a cave with nothing left but God. It reminds us that real security doesn’t come from where we hide, but who we trust. David’s words, “In you my soul takes refuge,” show us how to rest in the steadfast love of God even when life feels uncertain.
But the story doesn’t end with survival; it ends with a song. David begins the psalm crying for help and ends it praising God with a steadfast heart. That’s the power of grace: God turns caves into sanctuaries and fear into faith.
