The Second Coming of Christ Series
What kind of King is Jesus? In Luke 19:37-44, at the Triumphal Entry, Jesus is openly praised as the promised King of Psalm 118 and Zechariah 9. Then He weeps over Jerusalem. He sees the city’s blindness, its rejection of the peace with God He came to bring, and the judgment to come. Here we see that the Jesus who came in humility is the same Jesus who will return in glory, and that His kingship, authority, compassion, and gentleness all belong together. Matthew 11, Luke 15, and Mark 1 show that this King is still gentle and approachable to the weary and needy. Galatians 6 calls us, as His people, to bear one another’s burdens with that same compassion.
Will you receive Him as He truly is, and come to Him with your need?
